Four measurements, one last, one foot
Length, width, instep, fitting. Standing, with the weight on both feet: we measure the foot that walks. The last is built from there.
Three ways to be measured
You do not have to live in Brescia.

The measurements stay on file. The second pair does not start over.
The last
The last is the block of wood the shoe is built around. It is not a size: it is the exact volume of your foot.
Built once, every later pair starts from there. Model, leather, colour and sole change. The fit stays.
The fittings
On demanding work there is at least one fitting before the sole is stitched: the upper goes onto the last and is checked on the real foot, not on the numbers.
That is when we correct what the millimetres had not said. A prominent big toe, a high instep, an ankle asking for room.
You choose the model
Any model the customer wants can be reproduced, shown to us as a photograph, including one taken from a magazine or a catalogue, or drawn by hand.
Every model is available in all colours, for every foot size, in any leather or in cloth, silk, velvet. Initials, contrast stitching, coloured linings, triple layer sole leather for cold climates.
Belts and bags are made in the same leather and the same colour as the shoes.
The times
They start at order confirmation, or at the first fitting.

Deposit and balance
Bespoke work starts with a 30% deposit at order confirmation. The balance falls due when the work is finished, before shipping.
The deposit covers the leather, bought and cut for you, which cannot be used for another customer. That is why the right of withdrawal does not apply to bespoke work, as set out in article 59 of the Italian Consumer Code.
When the foot needs more
Many people come because ordinary shoes will not let them walk. Some wear footbeds, others need a raise.
We make bespoke footbeds in leather and variable density EVA, and we build the shoe around the footbed instead of adjusting it afterwards. If you have a prescription or a footbed already in use, bring that: it is where we start.
Outside the European scale nothing changes in the method. The price follows the model and the leather, not the number.
